Smith House is a three-story, wood residence that houses 10 students in eight singles and one two-room double room. There are two co-ed bathrooms in the house. The first floor includes a living room and full kitchen. There is no elevator in the building.

Each student is assigned a telephone number for their entire time at Bowdoin. One phone per room is supplied and each student has an individual voicemail box.

Smith has limited parking available for residents. Decals are issued to designated parking lots based on seniority and housing assignments on a first come, first served, space available basis. You can learn more about student parking at Bowdoin on the Security parking website.
The laundry room is located in the basement. The charge for washers and dryers is $1.50 per cycle. The washing machines and dryers in all residence halls are equipped with card readers; laundry machines do not accept cash. You may add money to your Bowdoin ID card for this purpose at several machines on campus. You can see what machines are open, get alerts sent to you when your laundry is finished, and report a problem with a machine at any time by visiting LaundryView.

All college-owned student residences are equipped with sprinklers and alarmed for fire safety.
