Veterans Benefits

The degree programs of Bowdoin College meet the standards set by the Maine State Approving Agency for Veterans Education Programs for persons eligible for benefits (G.I. Bill) from the US Department of Veterans Affairs. Students who request veterans' educational assistance are required to have all previous postsecondary experience evaluated for possible transfer credit in order to be eligible for benefits. Bowdoin participates in the Yellow Ribbon program. Any student interested in learning more about the program at Bowdoin should contact the Student Aid Office at sao@bowdoin.edu.

The Office of the Registrar partners with the Student Aid Office around veterans benefits by certifying the enrollment of students who receive veterans' educational assistance. As the VA Certifying Officials on campus, the Office of the Registrar can address any questions related to the certifications required for maintaining veterans benefits. Please email registrar@bowdoin.edu with questions.
