The Office of the Registrar records official course and student information. We work with the faculty--through the Curriculum and Educational Policy, Recording, and Curriculum Implementation Committees--to ensure the integrity of the Bowdoin degree.

The Office of the Registrar is responsible for:

  • recording credit earned by students (Bowdoin credit, transfer credit, AP/IB credit, etc.);
  • recording students' grades and transcript information;
  • recording students' declared majors and minors;
  • monitoring students' progress toward earning their degrees;
  • processing course registrations;
  • recording students' official biographical and enrollment information;
  • monitoring the distribution of courses across the College's calendar; and
  • assigning classrooms.
