Request Registration in an Independent Study

Submit this form to request registration in an independent study or honors project. More detailed instructions are included on the form.

  • Submit a paper form (see options below) signed by the project director for your honors project or independent study to the Office of the Registrar. This is required even if you will be continuing to work with a project director for a second semester. If a department determines that a project does not meet the standards for honors, the course number(s) for one or two semesters of independent study will be changed to 4000-4028.
  • Use this Independent Study form if you'd like to print one out and fill it in completely by hand. Submit it to the Office of the Registrar (on the 1st floor of Moulton Union) with the project director's signature.

When you're done filling in the form, print it, have the project director sign it, and submit it to the Office of the Registrar (on the 1st floor of Moulton Union).
