Propose a Distribution Designation for Your Course

Before requesting a distribution designation for a course, please consider the following guidelines:

  • Ideally, a distribution designation will be proposed and approved before the semester in which the course will be offered. A distribution designation must be approved by faculty vote no later than the end of the semester during which the course is offered.
  • First-year seminars will not satisfy any distribution requirement.
  • 300-level courses will not normally satisfy any distribution requirement.
  • No course will be designated as satisfying more than two of the five distribution requirements.

To propose that a course be designated as satisfying two distribution requirements, please complete a separate form for each proposed designation.
