To Members of the Bowdoin Community,
Today we launch "The Bowdoin Daily Sun (http://www.bowdoindailysun.com)," a daily online digest of Bowdoin news, sports, photography, and articles from across the Internet and around the world that we judge to be of interest to the Bowdoin community.
Our intent is to produce something educational and fun, where you can check out the weather in Brunswick, learn about faculty research and recommendations, watch a video, read about Maine, and even pick up a favorite recipe from Bowdoin's Dining Service.
Each week, I will post my thoughts on some subject important to the College or interesting to me. We’ll also include a monthly edition of "The Whispering Pines" reflections on Bowdoin traditions, history, and campus life written by John R. Cross '76. Every posting includes the opportunity for reader comments, and we hope you will let us know your thoughts on what you see as well as what you would like to see from the College.
Available on the Web, "The Bowdoin Daily Sun" can also be read on most mobile devices. You can also share what you find via e-mail, Facebook, Twitter, or a variety of other services. Subscribers will receive a listing of headlines via e-mail each morning, or you can choose to receive a regularly updated RSS feed. Simply visit http://www.bowdoindailysun.com and select your preferred method of delivery by clicking the links at the top left hand side of the page. E-mail subscribers will receive a message asking you to confirm your subscription.
We all lead busy lives, and it can be difficult to stay connected with the people and institutions that matter to us the most. I hope "The Bowdoin Daily Sun" will help you stay connected (or reconnect) with the College, provide interesting and useful information, and stand as a brief but valuable part of each day.
