To Members of the Bowdoin Community:

I am pleased to announce the appointment of Visiting Assistant Professor Roy Partridge as Special Assistant to the President for Multicultural Affairs. A graduate of Oberlin College, Roy earned his M.S.W., M.A. and Ph.D. degrees at the University of Michigan and an M. Div. at Harvard University. He first came to Bowdoin in 1993 as the Dean of First-Year Students. Roy's principal role will be to serve as an advisor to me and Roy will work with staff, students and faculty to advance Bowdoin's emphases on access, equity, and multiculturalism.

A member of the faculty since 1994, Roy brings substantial knowledge of Bowdoin students and years of experience and wisdom to these efforts. In addition to taking on these critical new responsibilities, Roy will continue to teach courses in sociology and Africana Studies.

Please join me in welcoming Roy to this new role.
