Poetry Hike Overnight

Saturday through Sunday

Join poet and non-fiction writer Sebastian Matthews, along with Bowdoin Magazine associate editor (and Fishouse poetry editor) Matt O'Donnell, for an experiential writing workshop in the gorgeous western mountains of Maine. The trip will begin with Matthews reading Friday night, and leave Saturday morning for Bigelow Mountain in Carrabassett Valley, where we'll hike to Horn Pond and camp. The weekend will link trail experience to the creative act of writing. We'll read Thoreau, Basho, Gary Snyder and others. We'll also write while out on the trail, and hold a reading for the group back at the Schwartz when we return on Sunday.
