Jeremy Tardif, Garden Manager
Jeremy Tardif has been farming organically for 8 years, 4 of which saw him raising vegetables and livestock at a local educational facility. Farming seemed a natural pursuit based on his love of good food and productivity. He is extremely passionate about local food systems, and teaching others the stories about the foods we eat. In addition to farming, he has worked professionally on commercial fishing boats in the Bering Sea, and is a licensed arborist. Outside of campus, Jeremy, his wife and two sons enjoy homesteading in Woolwich, where they raise poultry and cultivate an edible landscape.
Mike Perisho, Garden Assistant
Mike is from Evanston, IL and studied ecology at the University of Puget Sound before moving to Maine in 2010. First attracted to Maine for its outstanding network of farm apprenticeship opportunities, Mike just might stay for good thanks to the vibrant culture and seemingly endless potential for exploration and recreation he's found here. Mike has completed full-season apprenticeships at Long Meadow Farm in West Gardiner and Crystal Spring Farm in Brunswick, and spends off days cultivating an "oversized kitchen garden" with his girlfriend on her family's land in Gardiner. When not gardening, Mike can be found surfing uncrowded waves along the Midcoast.
As well as providing wages for the Garden Manager, Assistant, and Student Interns, Dining Service provides oversight for the program and sends volunteers out frequently. Our chefs also work in the gardens, taking all those wonderful products and infusing them into our menus.
