Buildings Access

Residence Halls

Most residence hall exterior doors are locked at all times and require use of a OneCard for entry. After 1 a.m., the OneCard will only allow access to the student's own residence hall.

Most academic and administrative buildings on the Bowdoin College campus have exterior door access readers that allow OneCard access to approved members of the College community. Each building's access plan is individually designed to meet the needs of the residents within the building and most are unlocked during business or other scheduled hours. For faculty and staff working in a building equipped for OneCard access, your OneCard provides access to your building 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

If you need additional access, please talk to your instructor or department head; they can authorize such access changes to your OneCard account. If you have questions about access privileges, contact onecard@bowdoin.edu.
