Writer in Residence Margot Livesey to Read from Latest Novel Sept. 29

Acclaimed novelist and Bowdoin College writer in residence Margot Livesey will read from her recent novel, The House on Fortune Street, at 4:30 p.m. Monday, September 29, 2008, in Lancaster Lounge, Moulton Union.

The reading is open to the public and admission is free.

Margot Livesey grew up on the edge of the Scottish Highlands. She is the author of a collection of stories and six novels, and has been writer in residence at Bowdoin since 2005.

The House on Fortune Street was published in March 2008 by Harper Collins to great critical acclaim. The novel channels literary classics such as Jane Eyre and Great Expectations to tell the contemporary story of a London therapist, her family, her friendships, and the ups and downs of romantic love.

A reception will follow Livesey's reading.
