Solidarity in Action (Solidaridad en Marcha) welcomed participants to Peru to work alongside local children to refurbish playgrounds in the shantytowns of Lima.
This trip has certainly expanded my perspective, made me even more thankful for my own privileges and opportunities, and inspired me to use them to better the lives of those less fortunate. Perhaps most importantly however, the trip served as proof that a universal connection among all people, regardless of education, financial status, or cultural background, exists. We were all able to experience this firsthand by creating relationships, memories, and fostering a sense of community with the local Peruvians that I doubt any one of us will soon forget.
