In supporting the public engagement activities of students, faculty and staff, the McKeen Center for the Common Good recognized the service and engagement efforts of several members of the Bowdoin and local community in an awards ceremony with President Mills on May 4th.

This April, the Common Good Grant Program concluded a year-long venture into the world of foundations and non-profits with an awards ceremony featuring the presentation of nine grants, totaling $17,850, to local organizations.

Applications are now available for 2013 Alternative Spring Break trips and leaders. An information session for those interested in proposing trips will be held on Tuesday, April 3 at 5 p.m. in the McKeen Center Common Room.

Each January, when students are on break from the College, faculty and staff get the opportunity to participate in a morning of service through the Community Action Days organized by the McKeen Center. Meant to connect colleagues from different departments across campus by having them work together at local community organizations, this year's event marked the 6th such day and included 70 faculty and staff from Student and Academic Affairs.
