Lindsey Horowitz '12 Exemplifies Multifaceted Community Engagement

Story posted June 08, 2012

The Bowdoin Daily Sun recently profiled Lindsey Horowitz ’12, citing her intense community involvement at Bowdoin, including her unique experience serving on a non-profit board as a senior.  Lindsey first got involved in the greater Brunswick community during her first year at Bowdoin, when she joined the Falcon Friends mentoring program, which works with elementary school students in Bowdoinham.  Lindsey continued on to lead that group and started finding new and different ways to engage with the community.  The summer before her senior year, Lindsey was a Community Matters in Maine Fellow at the Five Rivers Arts Alliance, the position which led to her role as a board member.  During her senior year, Lindsey kept busy!  In addition to her role on the Five Rivers Arts Alliance board, Lindsey was also a mentoring leader, a Bowdoin Volunteer Corps McKeen Fellow, an Alternative Spring Break trip participant, and a fifth grade girls’ basketball coach.
