What Are Your Plans for Next Summer?

Story posted November 08, 2012

On Tuesday, November 13, 2012 at 7:30 PM in Main Lounge (Moulton Union), there will be an information session on Funded Internships from across campus.

One of the programs that will be highlighted next Tuesday is the Community Matters in Maine Summer Fellowships.  These 10-week fellowships provide students the opportunity to work and serve in the local community by way of a placement in a specific organization to address community issues while strengthening campus-community partnerships. Meant to capitalize on students' interests, the fellowship allows students to explore work in the public sector while developing an understanding of issues at the local level – what they are, and how to solve problems related to these issues by working with a broad spectrum of community leaders.

This event will review opportunities from the Career Planning Center, Environmental Studies, Kent Island, the McKeen Center, Student Employment, Student Fellowships and Research, and Upward Bound.

"Working with ArtVan has ignited in me a new passion for a different form of education. My internship this summer proved to me how important it is for children be given the opportunity to express themselves artistically."
