In Maine, Chris has served on the Board of Maine Audubon and currently sits on the Board of Common Good Ventures, based in Brunswick, ME. CGV is in the business of helping other non-profits in Maine expand their impact and reach. Within CGV, Chris serves as Treasurer and provides Board assistance to the Springboard and Business Advisor programs.
As a successful entrepreneur, Chris understands the need for all businesses—including non-profit organizations—to exercise good business practices in the course of delivering on their mission. As Chair of the Maine Angels, a private equity investment group, Chris has been able to connect non-profit organizations with specific needs with business contacts willing to provide pro bono assistance.
“Non-profits are not in business to make profit, but they are a business nonetheless and, to be sustainable over the long haul, need to deliver their good works using business best practices.”
