Mike Taylor has impacted the lives of hundreds of children in the Topsham area by coaching and founding youth wrestling programs in School Administrative District No. 75. He coordinates the Pee-Wee program, which he founded with the Topsham Recreation Department; is the head coach at the middle school level; and is an assistant coach at the high school. He helped found the Eagles Wrestling Club Boosters and represented the club on the Give and Go committee. Each year, 120 kids now participate in Topsham’s wrestling programs.

Mike and the other coaches hope that children learn to try their hardest not only on the wrestling mat but with everything that they do in life. Mike, who began wrestling in fifth grade and continued through his time in the army, has been instructed by coaches who had a big and positive impact on his own life. Mike thinks it is a great reward to see his wrestlers graduate from high school and move on to the next phase of their lives.
