Kate Bathras serves on the Alumni Council for the George J. Mitchell Scholarship Research Institute, which supports the goals and work of the institute. The Alumni Council provides awards to Mitchell Scholars and alumni to pursue personal and professional development opportunities, and holds an annual professional development event that connects participants with people who live and work in Maine.
Having received a scholarship from the Mitchell Institute when she graduated from high school, Kate was an active participant in the Mitchell Institute leadership development programs while she was a student at Bowdoin. Her service on the Alumni Council is a way of giving back both to the organization and to current Mitchell Scholars. She admires the work of the Mitchell Institute and hopes to remain involved for a long time.
“We are able to help Maine students find and take advantage of opportunities to learn, work, and live in Maine.”
