Mathematics

2012-13

Bowdoin invites applications from female students majoring in the physical sciences (computer science, physics, chemistry or mathematics) to apply for a one-year research fellowship. 

We anticipate awarding up to four fellowships this spring.

AWARD

$3,200 stipend for summer 2012 plus a $600 housing allowance for Bowdoin College summer housing.
$4,000 stipend for the 2012-2013 academic year.
$2,200 for travel and supplies during the entire period of the award.

ELIGIBILITY

To be eligible, you must:

  • Be a female student in good standing at Bowdoin, interested in the  physical sciences: computer science, physics, chemistry or math.
  • Be a U.S. citizen.
  • Not plan to pursue further education in the medical sciences.
  • Demonstrated scholarly promise and research potential as evidenced in a letter(s) of recommendation from faculty.
  • Currently be a sophomore or a junior.
  • Students who will be on campus during the entire 2012-2013 academic year will be strongly preferred.
