Mariana Cruz takes Bowdoin Students to Present at "Youth, Migration, and Transanational Flows" conference at Cornell University.

Our panel consisted of four papers that examined the experiences of Latinos and Latinas in higher education from multiple perspectives. Themes included college as an empowering space for the self-authoring of Latino identities, reflections on the pervasiveness of "whitestream" (Whiteness as mainstream) in American higher education, and the notion of education as a decolonial resource for Latinos and Latinas.
