Send/Recieve Large Files

As you probably know most Bowdoin employees and students have an email quota of 3 MB per message. This is an important feature to keep the mail system operating quickly and efficiently. However, there are times when we need to send or receive files larger than 3 MB. Information Technology has developed a new web tool that will assist you with these larger files.

http://www.bowdoin.edu/pushmepullyou is a public document drop-off utility that allows Bowdoin faculty, staff and students to share documents with their peers around the world. Users may either upload files (Push me) to be viewed by others, or they may download files (Pull me) that others have left for them to find.

To use, simply go to the link above and log in with your email username and password. It will take you to the site that has detailed directions.

If you would like to send to or receive documents from anyone outside the Bowdoin Community, direct them to the same site, http://www.bowdoin.edu/pushmepullyou.

They will need to click the blue new user button at the bottom left hand side of the window. After they fill out the basic information, they will be automatically sent a password and instructions on how to use the site.

Give it a try. It is a great tool. Should you have any questions, or would like to test it using me as guinea pig, give me a call at x3701 or send and email to rmaschin@bowdoin.edu.
