All faculty, staff and students have access to Network drives.
When saving files to the network, faculty and staff members have a secure drive for individual use. On a PC this drive is designated by the letter "F" and/or "G". On a Mac it is designated by the user name. These drives are private with only the user having access. It is recommended that you save all of your work to this drive.
Directions for accessing your personal drive:*

Additionally, staff, faculty and some student employees have access to a department drive. On a PC this drive is designated by the letter "J". On a Mac it is designated by "Dept". All staff members in your department have access to this. This drive is useful for sharing documents with other department members or student employees in your department.
All faculty, staff and students have access to a scratch drive . On a PC this drive is designated by the letter "S". On a Mac it is designated by "Scratch". It can be accessed campus-wide and is useful if you need to share non-confidential files with other departments or individuals. Do not place anything on this drive that is in any way confidential.
All three network drives are automatically backed up each night. However, files placed on the scratch drive (s:\) are automatically deleted after 7 days.
If you need to share confidential files, sending them via email attachment is your best option.
If you have a special project with files that you regularly share with other departments, please call the Help Desk at x3030 and we will be happy to help you.
