Searles 128 is designed to support computer science coursework and research. The room also includes an overhead projector, data projector, VCR, DVD player, and a sound system that can be used for audio/visual presentations by students and faculty.

These computers have a G4 700 MHz processor, 256 MB RAM, 40 GB Hard Drive, DVD/CD-RW drive, and OS X. Some of the computers have external floppy disk drives.
