Multimedia Presentations and Projections

Microsoft's PowerPoint (digital presentation software) is available on all of the IT lab computers. (For more information about general use and multimedia labs on campus, please click on Resources in the left menu.) With PowerPoint faculty and students can create slide shows that include text, images, video, and music.

In addition, Macromedia Director and Macromedia Flash are available in the IT Multimedia Lab in Coles Tower Room 2 West. Both tools allow faculty and students to design multimedia applications using video, audio, text, and images that can be delivered over the Internet. Director requires the Macromedia Shockwave Player, while Flash requires the Macromedia Flash Player.

3D Studio Max, which is only available in Druckenmiller 024, is a tool that allows faculty and students to create high-end animations and 3D models for the Internet, film, television, and games.

IT offers training sessions for the above applications. Please check the IT Training Schedule to learn more about the offerings.

When it comes time to present your projects, slide projectors and data video projection units for use in classroom settings are available from AV Services. In addition, these portable units are available for general loan through the IT loaning center. Please see the Equipment Loan page for more information.
