The use of Bowdoin College public printers from OS X requires the installation of one package which is described in the following steps.
Please note: Moutain Lion has added new security measures that will prevent driver installation by default. For more information and the workaround, click here. Also Pharos does not support Fast User Switching. Fast User Switching must be disabled on the Accounts pane in System Preferences before any Pharos software is installed.
Download the Pharos Public Printer Package application by clicking on the link below.
Save the installer to your Docments folder and double click to open it.

Click "Continue"

Choose 1 or more printer(s) you'd like to install and click "Continue".

Click "Install."
Although not always required, it is a good idea to restart your computer before attempting to print to a Bowdoin Public Printer for the first time.
If you try to print and you see a message that your computer needs an update before it can print, be sure to run Software Update to make sure that you have the most current drivers from Apple.
When you send a print job to a public printer the Pharos popup window will appear. Type in your username and a name for your print job. This is how you will identify your print job when you got to the Print release station next to the Public Printer!
