The settings for Eudora work the same for computers on and off campus.
Click on the "Tools" menu.
Click on "Options"
Click on "Getting Started" from the left pane of the Options window. In the first 2 fields, type your name and email address. Fill in the following fields accordingly:
Mail Server: imap.bowdoin.edu
SMTP Server: smtp.bowdoin.edu
Check the box for "allow authentication"

Now click on "Checking Mail" from the left pane of the Options window.
Fill in the fields accordingly:
Mail Server: imap.bowdoin.edu
User Name: your bowdoin user name (e.g., jhaugen)
Secure Sockets when receiving: Required, Alternate Port

Click on "Incoming Mail" from the left pane of the Options window and fill in the following fields.
Server Configuration: Imap
IMAP Mailbox Location Prefix: imap.bowdoin.edu
Authentication Style: Passwords

Finally, click on the "Sending Mail" icon from the left pane of the Options window and use the following settings:
SMTP Server: smtp.bowdoin.edu
Check all the boxes.
Secure Sockets when Sending: "Required, STARTTLS".

Click the "OK" button at the bottom of the window.
