Information Technology is committed to providing all students the technology resources and support that they need for all academic and other pursuits while at Bowdoin.
Information Technology Student Services, (ITSS),is a campus resource designed to help students resolve non-hardware related computer problems. ITSS is a service designed for and operated by students. Students provide quick answers to common questions and resolve student computing and networking problems. This is a free service staffed by students who are interested in helping their fellow students with computing technology.
Bowdoin recommends that incoming students who want to buy a computer purchase a laptop. Apple and Dell offer special discounted pricing to Bowdoin students. We are happy to offer the Managed Laptop Program. If you buy the recommended package, Information Technology Student Services will provide additional support and assist with any warranty issues. They will stock spare parts and loaner computers to have your managed laptop up and running again quickly.

Remember, Bowdoin will provide you with a free copy of Microsoft Office and Sophos Antivirus, provided to students under our licensing agreement. Be sure not to pay extra for this software when you purchase your computer!
