To open Outlook, select Start > All Programs > Microsoft Office > Microsoft Office Outlook 2003.
To work with e-mail, make sure you are in the Mail section of Outlook. Click on the Mail section button.
in the left navigation pane.
All e-mail messages will appear in your Inbox. They can be sorted by date, subject, sender and a variety of other categories.
To receive new mail, click on the Send/Receive button
in the toolbar. New e-mail messages will appear in your Inbox.
To change how your email is sorted in your inbox, select the View > Arrange by menu and select the field you want to sort by. At the top of the Inbox, you'll see that the field you selected now has a triangle icon
next to it. If you click on that icon, you can reverse the sort order
from ascending to descending or vice-versa.

If you want to be able to preview your mail without opening the message in a separate window, turn on the "Reading Pane".
To do this, click on View > Reading Pane > Bottom.

Select the message in the Inbox that you want to reply to.
To reply to the sender only, click on the Reply icon
in the toolbar.
To reply to the sender and all other recipients of the message, click on the Reply to All icon
in the toolbar.
Enter your reply text in the message part of the email and click the Send
icon in the toolbar.

Click on the New Message icon
from the Outlook toolbar.
A new Untitled Message window will appear.
In the To... field, type the email address of the recipient. If you are sending a message to more than one person, use a semicolon (;) between addresses.
In the Subject: field, type the subject matter of the message.
Type your message in the white area below the Subject: line.
To send the e-mail, click on the Send icon
on the e-mail toolbar.

Create a new e-mail message and type in the To..., Subject: and message as you normally would.
Click on the Insert File icon
on the e-mail toolbar.
An Insert File window will appear. Navigate to the file you want to attach and double click on it. The window will close and an Attach... field will appear below the Subject: line, with the name of the file.
Send the email as you normally would.

To automatically check spelling of your messages before they are sent, choose, Tools > Options.
Click on the Spelling tab in the Options window that appears.
Check the "Always check spelling before sending" option.
Click the Apply button and click the OK button.
Misspelled words in your email messages will be underlined in red and when you send your message, the Outlook spell checker will prompt you on misspelled words and offer you suggestions which you can accept or ignore.

Choose Tools > Options...
Click on the Mail Format tab of the Options window that appears.
In the Signatures section, click on the Signatures... button.
In the Create Signature window, click on the New... button
Enter a name for the new signature in the space provided. Select the "Start with a blank signature" option. Click on the Next > button.
At the next window, type all the text as you would like it to appear on each of your email messages.
Click on the Finish button. Click on the OK button to close the remaining windows.

You can search through your email to find specific messages that meet specific criteria, e.g., sent to or from a specific person, about a specific topic, sent on a certain date, etc.
In the Look for: field just above your Inbox, type in the key word or phrase that you are searching for.
In the Search In field, you can choose which folder(s) of messages to search from
Click on the Find Now button. Outlook will list all messages that meet your search criteria.

Outlook's default search mode is to search for the key text in all parts of the message. You can turn this off in the Options menu to the right of the Find Now button. You can also set up an Advanced Find through the Options menu.

Select (click on ) the message you want to delete in the Inbox.
Click on the Delete icon
in the toolbar.
