Calling outside of the CBB network (Off-Net calls)

The CBB Video network has a connection to the Public Switched Telephone Network (PTSN) to allow users to make and receive video and voice calls to many sites around the world via the ISDN network. However, ISDN video calls are tricky and often require careful coordination with the destination site. To make an outside call, you must prefix the number with a special access prefix (much like dialing '9' to access an outside line on your telephone).

  1. Set your speed to 64kb, 128kb, or 384kb depending on the capabilities of the remote site.
  2. Dial one of the following prefixes followed by the ten-digit telephone number to call.
  3. If you call does not complete, try reducing your speed.

Off-Net Access

90# + Ten Digit Number = Voice Call
91# + Ten Digit Number = 64kb Video Call
92# + Ten Digit Number 1*Ten Digit Number 2 = 64kb x 2 Video Call
93# + Ten Digit Number = 384kb Video Call

Note: 64kbs x 2 combines two separate numbers (channels) into one 128kbs call.

Example: To make a 64kbs video call to 207-555-1212 dial 91#2075551212
