The ISLE program is a study abroad program based in Kandy, Sri Lanka. The program is administrated at Bowdoin College.
"ISLE" Stands for "Intercollegiate Sri Lanka Education." Since 1982, nearly 400 students from the United States have studied in Sri Lanka through this program. Students come from eight different colleges: Bates, Bowdoin, Carleton, Colby, Grinnell, Holy Cross, Swarthmore, and Whitman.
As ISLE comes upon its 25th year, the program moves into a new phase, offering students of the consortium colleges two opportunities per year to study in Sri Lanka. A fall program will commence every late August, for 15 weeks, and a spring program will commence each February, also lasting 15 weeks.
