Tina has been at Bowdoin since 2004. Prior to her current role, she worked in the Information Technology Division consulting with faculty on various technologies and creating the communication and training plans for major enterprise system deployments. Before coming to Bowdoin, Tina spent ten years working in geographic information systems, conducting geographic analysis for federal agencies and implementing systems. In her graduate work, Tina studied qualitative and quantitative research methods, survey methodology, and automated analytical techniques such as natural language processing and machine learning. Tina earned her undergraduate degree at Cornell University, a master’s degree in geography at the University of Buffalo, and a master’s degree in library science and her Ph.D. in information science and technology at Syracuse University.

Since 1999, Margaret has worked within the institutional research group at Bowdoin. She has been involved with every aspect of IR from reporting to IPEDS and US News to developing academic profiles for internal planning. She has maintained the official historical record of the College's data. In her new role as BI & Data Integrity Analyst, Margaret supports data quality for internal and external analyses by working with colleagues across the campus to develop data standards and definitions. She will also work with the data warehousing team and College constituents to migrate data to the data warehouse. Prior to working at Bowdoin, Margaret worked at the Maine Municipal Association and in the Office of the Revisor of Statutes within the Maine State Legislature. She earned her A.B. from Bowdoin College and her M.L.I.S. from the University of South Carolina.

Stephanie has been the Assistant Director of Institutional Research since October 2012. Prior to joining Bowdoin, Stephanie worked in the corporate sector as a Brand Manager at Heinz USA (Pittsburgh, PA), a Marketing Strategist at Hannaford Bros. Supermarkets, and a consultant specializing in brand management, new product development, market research, and data analysis.  In the Office of Institutional Research, Analytics and Consulting, Stephanie’s primary areas of responsibility include student surveys, alumni surveys and assisting with data reporting for college guidebooks. Stephanie received her B.A. in History from Dartmouth College and her MBA from the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University.

Steve joined Bowdoin in April 2015.  His role as an ETL Developer and Analyst is to help integrate data from diverse source systems across campus into an enterprise data warehouse.  Prior to joining Bowdoin, Steve spent four years as a Business Intelligence consultant in New Zealand where he worked on building data warehouses and implementing data analytics programs for a variety of industries including government departments, the energy sector, and personal insurance.  Before his work in New Zealand, he spent three years working in software development in the Boston area.  Steve earned his undergraduate degree in Computer Science from Boston University.

Sharon has worked in computing at Bowdoin since 1995. In Institutional Research, Analytics and Consulting she performs a variety of data warehousing and business intelligence functions. Previously working in Information Technology, she was the technical lead for data warehousing with Bowdoin's Student Information System, was the technical lead on two accounting software conversions, and had primary responsibility for Bowdoin's advancement and financial software. Prior to moving into computing, Sharon held postdoctoral research fellowships in California and France, and was on the mathematics faculty at Bowdoin for four years. In her graduate work, Sharon studied differential geometry. Sharon earned her undergraduate degree at Harvard and Radcliffe Colleges. She earned her master's and doctoral degrees in mathematics at the University of Pennsylvania.

Peter has worked at Bowdoin since 2007, serving since 2013 as Director of Business Intelligence and Data Warehousing and prior to that, as Senior Associate Dean of Admissions. Peter leads a team that is building a dimensionally modeled enterprise data warehouse called the Data Hub. He has served as a project manager for several software implementations and consults on data and reporting for departments adopting new databases (Workday and Slate, most recently). Peter has played an integral role in the implementation of Ellucian’s Operational Data Store (ODS) and the deployment of the accompanying reporting solution, IBM Cognos. Peter earned his undergraduate degree from Wesleyan University and a master’s degree in education from Harvard University.
