Self-Guided Joshua L. Chamberlain Walking Tour

In honor of the sesquicentennial of the Civil War being marked by the Bowdoin Alumni College and in conjunction with the Pejepscot Historical Society commemorating the 150th anniversary of the Battle of Gettysburg for Chamberlain Days, Digital & Social Media has built a self-guided, mobile-based walking tour which allows visitors to explore the life, career, and lasting contributions of one of Brunswick's favorite sons. The online tour is based on the original walking tour the Pejebscot Society has been offering to visitors as a paper handout and has been expanded to include many features including:

  • Extended text about Chamberlain and the history of each tour stop location
  • A Google Map of the route and detailed directions to each tour stop
  • A slideshow of images relating to Chamberlain and each tour stop

Unlike many mobile-based resources, the Chamberlain Walking Tour is not an "App" so you are not restricted to a particular platform (iPhone, Android, etc.) to view. Any Internet-capable device (smart phone, tablet, etc.) can run the tour. Simply point your device's Internet browser to the link below to get started.
