BRUNSWICK, Maine - Bowdoin College volleyball first-year Stephanie Drumright (San Francisco, Calif.) has been named to the New England Small College Athletic Conference Second-Team. A middle blocker, Drumright was one of just two first-years recognized in the Conference's post-season honors.
The rookie enjoyed a sensational campaign for the Polar Bears, leading the team in several categories. She topped the squad in attack percentage, connecting at a .268 clip, while earning second on the squad with 342 kills overall (2.97/game). Among NESCAC players, her attack percentage stood ninth overall while her kills ranked 12th overall.
In addition, she earned 106 blocks to set a new single-season Bowdoin mark. At 0.92 kills per game, she was good enough to rank sixth in the conference. She enjoyed season-highs of 22 kills against Eastern Connecticut (Sep. 8) and posted a season-high 10 blocks against Coast Guard (Sep. 28).
The Polar Bears finished the 2007 season with a 17-14 overall mark, qualifying for the NESCAC Tournament. Following up on last year's 20-11 record, Bowdoin finished with consecutive winning seasons for the first time since 1988-89.
