Page Named NESCAC Player of the Week

BRUNSWICK, Maine - Bowdoin College sophomore Gillian Page (Mercer Island, Wash.) has been named the New England Small College Athletic Conference Volleyball Player of the Week. Page, an outside hitter for the Polar Bears, led the team to a 3-1 week and is just the second Polar Bear since 2000 to receive Player of the Week recognition.

Page averaged 3.14 kills and 4.86 digs per game as the Polar Bears went 3-1 last week. At Colby on Wednesday, Page had nine kills and 16 digs in a 3-0 victory before collecting 16 kills and 20 digs in a 3-2 setback to NESCAC-leading Amherst on Sunday. Page leads Bowdoin in kills (3.01/game) and digs (307) this season. At the Mid-Coast Classic last weekend, Page enjoyed two strong showings in victories over Gordon (15 kills, 24 digs) and Keuka (four kills, eight digs).

The Polar Bears are currently 13-9 this season (1-4 NESCAC) and have an important week ahead, as they will travel to Middlebury, Vt. this Friday and Saturday to play a trio of NESCAC matches against Hamilton, Middlebury and Williams.
