BRUNSWICK, Maine - The Bowdoin College men's golf team took a pair of runner-up finishes at tournaments last weekend. The Polar Bears were second at the Maine State Tournament at Natanis Golf Club Saturday before finishing second at Sunday's Colby Classic at the Waterville Country Club.
Saturday at the State Tournament, Bowdoin totaled a two-day score of 638 behind Husson's 623. Jeff Cutter was second individually with scores of 77-76, closing one shot off the lead. Ryan Blossom (80-77) also claimed All-State honors by placing among the top finishers.
Sunday, in a modified scoring format that featured best ball, scramble and alternate shot, Bowdoin was second to Husson again, scoring 227 as a six-man team behind Husson's 217. Blossom and Cutter finished third overall as a team, scoring a 71 to lead the Polar Bears.
