MEDFORD, Mass. - The Bowdoin College men's cross-country team placed first overall while the women took fourth at the season-opening Tufts Invitational on Saturday.
The Polar Bear men placed four of the top 11 finishers to claim the overall crown in the 8K race. Colman Hatton finished second to lead Bowdoin, with Thompson Ogilvie in third spot. Stan Berkow claimed eighth place with Colin Ogilvie in 11th overall. Jonas Crimm (14th) and Scot McFarlane (17th) also claimed top-20 finishes. Bowdoin easily out-paced runner-up Stonehill by a total margin of 6:18.
The Bowdoin women took fourth thanks to three top-10 finishers. Anne Monjar took second place overall to lead the squad with Christina Argueta taking fifth and Courtney Martin 10th. The Polar Bears trailed winning Tufts by a cumulative time of just over two minutes.
