FARMINGTON, Maine - The Bowdoin College men's and women's cross-country teams were victorious in their first races since September 13, claiming first at the Maine-Farmington Invitational on Saturday.
The Bowdoin men placed five of the top nine finishers while the women claimed five of the top seven. Leading the women's team was Anna Ackerman, who placed first individually in the 5K run by nearly 19 seconds. The Polar Bears finished 3-4-5 with Holly Jacobson, Lindsay Hodge and Laura Newcomb pacing the squad. Other top-ten showings for the women included Maren Askins in seventh and Lindsey Horowitz in ninth.
The men's team went 1-2 in the 8K race, as Charlie Berdahl won the competition over Will Stafstrom by 13 seconds. Barrett Wood was sixth while Brian Wu finished seventh. Anders Samuelson claimed ninth overall as the Polar Bears cruised to victory.
