DURHAM, N.H. - The Bowdoin College outdoor track and field team boasted several strong showings, including a school record, in the Open New England Championship at the University of New Hampshire last weekend.
In a competition that featured several Division I schools, Laura Onderko set a new school record in the women's 5K, finishing in a time of 17:17.42, besting the school record formerly held by Darcie Stonin (17:20.7) by over three seconds. Onderko finished in eighth place overall in the event. Kelsey Borner placed fifth in the discus while the women's 4x800 team placed fourth overall.
Nathan Krah was the lone scorer for the Polar Bears in the men's meet, earning and impressive third-place showing in the 10K. Bowdoin finished 31st among 37 scoring teams in the men's meet while taking 21st of 31 scoring squads in the women's competition.
