SPRINGFIELD, Mass.- Bowdoin discus thrower Kelsey Borner earned a first-place finish to lead the Polar Bear track teams at the ECAC Championship last weekend at Springfield College. The Polar Bear women placed 12th of 53 scoring teams while the men took 35th overall.

Borner led the pack with a toss of 39.03 meters in the discus to take the title by nearly a meter and a half. Shemeica Binns followed with a fifth-place showing in the same event for Bowdoin while Borner also took fifth overall in the shot put competition. Laura Onderko also earned points for the Polar Bears by taking second in the 1500 meter run.

Nate Krah led the Bowdoin men with a fifth-place finish in the 10K run, while Damon Hall-Jones also earned a top-ten, placing seventh in the 200 meter dash.
