WALTHAM, Mass. - The Bowdoin College baseball team rallied for a 4-3 win in game two to salvage a doubleheader split at Brandeis on Sunday afternoon. The Judges, who took game one 8-3 are 13-13 on the year. The Polar Bears stand at 13-14 overall this season.
Bowdoin allowed six runs in the opening inning of game one and never recovered to fall in the opening contest. Matt Ruane and Jason Koperniak had two hits apiece to lead the Polar Bears.
In game two, Bowdoin rallied from a 1-0 deficit to score four times in the fifth inning and take a 4-3 win. Jason Koperniak highlighted the frame with a three-run homer to give Bowdoin the lead. Steve Hall was solid on the mound, allowing three runs over 5.2 innings. Ben Higgins closed the door by permitting just one hit in the final 1.1 to earn the save. Kevin Zikaras paced the offense with three hits on the afternoon.
