WATERVILLE, Maine - Katy Dissinger and Ashley Peterson had overtime goals as Bowdoin College held on for an 11-10 win over Colby College in New England Small College Athletic Conference women's lacrosse Wednesday night at Bill Alfond Field. Bowdoin improved to 8-4 overall and 3-3 in the NESCAC, while Colby fell to 7-5 overall and 3-4 in league play.
Dissigner, who had four goals and one assist, scored with 1:47 left in the first three-minute overtime period. Peterson then tallied off an assist from Bobbi Dennison with just 0.7 seconds left for an 11-9 lead after one overtime session.
In the second three-minute period, Colby's Becky Julia tallied with 1:34 remaining from Kate Sheridan. However, the Polar Bears were able to run out the clock after winning the draw control. Colby sent the game into overtime with a 4-1 goal advantage over the final 14:31 of regulation. Sheridan got the tying goal at 9-9 with 1:17 remaining.
Christina Denitzio had three goals for Bowdoin, while Ali Draudt added two. Sheridan led Colby with four goals and one assist, while Julian had three goals and one assist. Cary Finnegan finished with a pair of goals and one assist.
