SYLVAN, Florida - The Bowdoin College men's lacrosse team used a 6-1 second-period run to take control of the game and cruise to an eventual 17-10 win over St. Lawrence on Monday afternoon. The Polar Bears (3-0) stay perfect on the season by upsetting the 16th-ranked Saints (0-1).
Tied at two after the opening period, a 6-1 surge in the second frame gave Bowdoin an 8-3 edge at intermission. The Polar Bears upped their advantage to seven goals, 13-6, after the third quarter.
Adam Tracy led all scorers with four goals and three assists on the day while Max Key sparked the victory with a stellar 18-for-27 showing on faceoffs. Mike Giordano collected three goals with Russ Halliday posting two goals and two assists. Harry Ashforth and Cullen Winkler earned two goals apiece while Ben York, Ben Smith, Thadd Welch and Justin Starr also scored for the Polar Bears.
Alex Gluck (five saves, three goals against) and Gordon Convery (five saves, seven goals) split time in net for Bowdoin.
