Bowdoin Earns Academic Honor

BRUNSWICK, Maine - The American Volleyball Coaches Association has recognized the Bowdoin College women's volleyball squad for their excellence in the classroom by honoring the Polar Bears with a 2007-08 AVCA Team Academic Award.

The award, which was initiated in the 1992-93 academic year, honors collegiate and high school volleyball teams that displayed excellence in the classroom during the school year by maintaining at least a 3.30 cumulative team grade-point average on a 4.0 scale or a 4.10 cumulative team GPA on a 5.0 scale.

The Polar Bears finished the season with a record of 17-15 under head coach Karen Corey. Bowdoin will open their 2008 campaign on September 5 at the Endicott Invitational.
