Anelauskas Nets All-NESCAC Honor
BRUNSWICK, Maine - Bowdoin College junior Jill Anelauskas (Medfield, Mass.) has earned Second-Team All-NESCAC honors in selections announced on Wednesday. A co-captain on this year's squad, Anelauskas has led the Polar Bears (18-8) to their eighth-consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance, where they will play at Bridgewater State College in the first round on Friday at 8:00 p.m.
Battling through injuries this season, Anelauskas collected her second-straight postseason award after earning First-Team All-Conference honors in 2006-07. She paced the Polar Bears in scoring (12.4/game) and rebounding (7.0) while also closing in on a pair of benchmarks. After just three seasons, Anelauskas is 30 points shy of joining Bowdoin's 1,000-point club and is 24 rebounds shy of the 500-rebound plateau.
