Wojcik Named Assistant Coach


BRUNSWICK, Maine - Bowdoin College men's lacrosse coach Tom McCabe has announced the hiring of Chris Wojcik as an assistant coach for the 2008 season. A 1996 graduate of Harvard, where he was a two-sport captain, Wojcik was most recently an assistant for the Crimson lacrosse team.

Named as a captain for the men's soccer and men's lacrosse teams his senior year of 1995-96, he was named an Honorable Mention USILA All-American for fifth-ranked Harvard, who reached the quarterfinals of the NCAA Tournament. He was awarded the school's prestigious William J. Bingham award as Harvard's top athlete following his final campaign and still is the all-time leading scorer among midfielder for the Crimson with 89 goals and 45 assists.

After a professional playing career in Australia, Wojcik returned to Harvard in 2003 as an assistant coach before joining Bowdoin this winter. The Polar Bears open their 2008 season at Connecticut College on March 8.
