Hynes Named Player of the Week

BRUNSWICK, Maine - Bowdoin College sophomore Caitlin Hynes (Owl's Head, Maine) has been named the New England Small College Athletic Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week.

Hynes averaged 16.7 points and 5.3 rebounds during a 3-0 week for the Polar Bears, shooting an impressive 60.7 percent (17-for-28) from the field and hitting all three of her three-point attempts while blocking six shots. Hynes came off the bench during Friday's NESCAC opener at Williams and scored a game-high 15 points to rally the Polar Bears from a nine-point deficit to a 65-62 win. Saturday afternoon at Middlebury, Hynes made her first start of the season and dropped a career-high 21 points along with adding five rebounds as she led all scorers during a 54-51 victory.

After starting the season with a 5-4 mark, the Polar Bears have won six-straight games heading into Wednesday evening's home game against Clark (7:00 p.m.). Fans can follow the game live on the web via webcast and live statistics, available at the Bowdoin Athletics website.
