BRUNSWICK, Maine - Bowdoin sophomore quarterback Oliver Kell (Westford, Mass.) has been named the New England Small College Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Week. Kell was outstanding in Saturday's victory over Colby as Bowdoin earned their second-straight C-B-B (Colby-Bates-Bowdoin) Championship.
Kell was responsible for all three Polar Bear touchdowns in rhe 20-17 win over Colby. He went 20-for-30 for 180 yards passing, tossing two touchdown passes while scoring a third on a one-yard run at the end of the first half.
The sophomore, who is 4-0 in his career against in-state rivals Colby and Bates, finished sixth in the NESCAC with 1,423 total yards this season and ranked fifth in passing efficiency with a 108.2 rating. He tossed for eight touchdowns and completed 53.4% of his passes. His 1,308 passing yards this fall rank sixth all-time for a single-season in Bowdoin history, while his total yards rank fourth in a single-season.
Bowdoin finished their season with a record of 3-5 and won consecutive C-B-B titles for the first time since 1997-98.
