Zeigler Named Player of the Week

BRUNSWICK, Maine - Bowdoin College senior Ann Zeigler (Washington, D.C.) has been named as the New England Small College Athletic Conference Women's Soccer Player of the Week. Zeigler had a six-point week as the Polar Bears earned a pair of victories.

Zeigler scored the lone goal during Saturday's game at Trinity, giving the Polar Bears a 1-0 victory and a shot at hosting a first round game in the 2007 NESCAC Women's Soccer Championship. Zeigler also had two goals and an assist in Bowdoin's victory over Brandeis on Thursday. Entering play this week, she has 85 career points, just two shy of the 23-year old mark set by Marte Holden '85.

Bowdoin will host Southern Maine on Tuesday afternoon before closing out their regular season at home against Wesleyan on Saturday. Bowdoin (9-3-0) can clinch a first-round NESCAC home game on Sunday, October 28 with a victory over the Cardinals (3-9-1).
