BRUNSWICK, Maine - Bowdoin College golfers Ryan Blossom (Concord, N.H.) and Jeff Cutter (Medfield, Mass.) have been named to the All-New England Small College Athletic Conference Golf Team in selections announced on Tuesday. Blossom, who garnered First-Team All-Conference honors, is the first Polar Bear to achieve that status since the NESCAC began their post-season honors for golf in 2000.
The award highlights a spectacular fall season for Blossom, who finished in fourth place tie (+6, 150 two-day total) at the Conference Tournament to earn the honor. In addition to leading the Polar Bears to a sixth-place showing at the event, he has claimed medalist honors at Thomas College Invitational while also winning the Maine State Intercollegiate Tournament. A sophomore, Blossom is also a member of the Bowdoin men's ice hockey team where he finished second on the team in scoring with 11 goals and 10 assists in 25 games last year.
Cutter earns Second-Team All-Conference honors for the second-straight season after finishing 12th (+10, 154) at the NESCAC Tournament last weekend. Cutter finished in sixth place at the Maine State Tournament earlier this fall and is the captain of this year's team. He is also a member of the Bowdoin men's ice hockey team, where he scored a goal and two assists in eight games last season.
