BRUNSWICK, Maine - The New England Small College Athletic Conference has named Bowdoin senior tri-captain Ann Zeigler (Washington, D.C.) as their Women's Soccer Player of the Week. Zeigler scored a pair of key goals as the Polar Bears went 2-0 to open the 2007 campaign last weekend.
Twice named a First-Team All-NESCAC selection, Zeigler scored both game-winning goals in a pair of one-goal victories. On Saturday, the National Cathedral High School graduate scored the decisive goal with under eight minutes remaining in a 2-1 win at Bridgewater St. Sunday afternoon, Zeigler assisted on the game-tying goal with 14 minutes remaining before netting the game-winner in overtime for a 3-2 win over Babson.
Already one of the most decorated players in program history, Zeigler is closing in on some impressive career marks. Her 30 career goals stand fifth all-time at the school, just eight behind Marte Holden's career record. Along with 13 career assists, her 73 points are tied for fifth in program history, just 14 off of Holden's record of 87.
Bowdoin returns to action this Saturday when they host Colby College at 11:00.
